Would your finacee mind getting a more affordable ring?  There are many beautiful rings that would fit your budget.  There are plenty of Etsy rings.

Why don’t you get a “temp” ring, like a CZ, in place of your ring until it comes in.  You can get some really pretty rings that unless you’re really looking closely, noone would be able to tell! Especially, a florist or caterer or anyone who is just looking to see that you’re engaged! I know plenty of people who have not had rings, and are planning their weddings too!  Don’t let other people’s ideals hang you up on getting plans done, June will be here before you know it!

You could just tell them you guys are looking for the perfect ring together, or that it’s getting custom made. The ring is only a symbol, and not the only thing you need to get engaged.
