Yes… waiting for everything… and I am impatient..

Our videographer was having some internet issues.. and it has taken us months to get everything in line. He is a great price and knows our photographer well so I just left it.

I’m waiting to start my invites too (such a procrastinator) and we didn’t do a tasting we will be doing that on the 17th and our invites are supposed to be done-ish by then!

Fortunately my dress came in when they said it would.. we didn’t pick out b-maid dresses quick enough now I have to wait for them, and am scared they are going to look like crap and we are going to get them a month before the wedding..

Don’t be afraid to harass people. My secondary room block was a beast to set up because they would take a month at a time to get back to me. Keep track of when you contact them. For all of my vendors, I first emailed, then, if I didn’t get a response in 7 business days, I called. If I still wasn’t pleased/answered, I either dropped them as a vendor (we lost our florist because of her unprofessionalism) or asked to speak with a manager.

I used to do event programming. People who want your money should give you the time of day. If they aren’t responding to your phonecalls and emails now, how will you be able to reach them when it’s crunch time?

At first I was a little more patient, I would email wait a couple weeks and follow up again after no hearing anything. As the wedding is getting closer, my patience have gone out the window.  Now it’s more like I email, wait a couple days and then call until I finally get ahold of someone. I feel like I’m being pushy but with less than two months left and not much time for meetings or anything else, I need people to get back to me.

I’m planning a Destination Wedding in Jamaica so I know ALL about waiting.  I had to wait 2 weeks just to get some pics of the work the hairdresser has done; I usually have to wait a 5 – 10 days for a response from the wedding coordinators at the hotel.  I think what is killing me most, however, is waiting for RSVPS (I sent mine out already since I needed to give people time to plan travel).  I feel like I can’t do ANYTHING until I know how many people to do it for.  I feel like this will leave me scrambling at the last minute to get my Out of Town gift bags together and to order chair ties, etc.
