Planning anxiety: Will my wedding be good enough to make guests happy?

I suspect if you plonked on a beachfront in Hawaii with food and drink I’d be perfectly happy and wouldn’t need anything else!

I think you’ve done a lot! Significantly more than me! We have food drink and dancing – no artists or candy magicians at mine – yours sounds lovely and it’s very sweet you are worrying about everyone. But it will be fine! They are on a beach in Hawaii! What’s not to love!!

Mariposies123 :  It sounds fun to me, and honestly who wouldn’t be capable of having a good time hanging out on the beach?

Can the wedding singer play a good variety of songs, and ones that will want to get people out on the dance floor?

Your job is to have the wedding of YOUR dreams.  Guest satisfaction should be considered, yes, but it sounds like you’ve gone above and beyond to make this super fun and lovely for your guests.  Any detractors can pound sand.  I would LOVE to attend a wedding like that, and it sounds absolutely wonderful.

First of all, I’ve been to that exact restaurant and the sunset alone will be worth it to your guests.

Wedding party, DJs, photo booths are not necessary at all.  And honestly, if people want to go dancing afterwards, you are on a strip of restaurants and beach bars.  They can find a place with music.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Your venue is gorgeous to boot. I don’t get how people expect some kind of five-star experience at weddings- just do what you can afford and as long as there is food and music you’re fine!!

Your guests will be happy because they are watching you get married. Presumably they like you if they are coming to your wedding. Given they are fed and watered adults don’t need much to amuse themselves —- it sounds like you’ve already done quite a lot.

I certainly did less and I’ve no reason to think anybody was especially bored at my wedding!

If your guests can’t get it up for this wedding I’d be concerned about their ability to enjoy life in general. Lollipops and free booze on a beach….what, no unicorns?

The thing I was most scared of, was that people would feel bored and think that everything is lame! But nothing of this happened! Many other little things went wrong, but this didn’t happen. Maybe for some it wasn’t the greatest party of all times, but they enjoyed the evening.

What you describe sounds great! We also left out many things and so I was afraid people would judge, because there are not so flexible here normally.

We didn’t have a photobooth, I didn’t have bridesmaids (in my culture it’s not a thing, but in husbands country where we got married, almost everyone has them) and I didn’t have a first dance.

So, if you’re guests are not some very special persons, they’ll enjoy the evening, because they ‘ll be there to celebrate with you two! I know how hard this is, because everyone told me this, but I just wasn’t able to let it be, BUT I wish I had; try to focuse less on entertaining your guests, but more on YOU! If they won’t have fun, then there must be something wrong with them. 😉

Oh I think you are worrying unnecessarily.  Your wedding and everything you planned sounds PERFECT for a Hawaii beach wedding.
