Not crazy at all, provided your SO is in?  We looked at venues, and even did a tasting before we got engaged!  Booking a place isn’t that much further off.  As long as it doesn’t cause a deer in the headlights reaction when you mention it, I say go for it!

Nah, go for it. My SO and I were talking about venues today. We aren’t engaged yet, just waiting for him to pop the question but I know it is coming. I feel weird sometimes planning a wedding when I am not engaged officially with a ring, but whatever. I know we are getting married so why does it matter? By all intents and purposes, we are engaged, as are you.

If the venue you want is available right now and you have the money for the deposit, do it! ESPECIALLY if it is refundable! Why the heck not!? Go for it, and congrats!

I myself experience how frustrating it was to plan and still not have the guy propose. Argh. If you’re sure he’s going to propose, then go for it! Congratulations in advance 😀

If all signs point to extremely near future engagement then do it. That ensures that the venue you want is available on the date you choose. I wouldn’t wait!

I would talk to him first before booking it, and make sure it’s what you both want to do.

Im assuming that you mean the hunter valley (and i applaud your choice of location if it is). I would consider it especially if that is even close to peak season. just talk it over with SO first (cant hurt to be open) and make sure you ‘pitch’ it properly!!!!

me and my OH are going to look at venues and book them and have asked the bridal party to be involved etc already and we wont be engaged until new year.

As far as we look at it the engagement is more a sign to everyone you are engaged but it is not the only way you know that each other is.
