Hello Wedding Bee world!
This is my very first post, and I’m hoping I can gain some insight from the many, wise brides and brides-to-be on here. I’m admittedly a bit a bit of a naiive wedding planner, learning as I go, and the biggest challenge thus far has been securing a venue for our special day (No biggie, right? Ha). FI and I are currently based in Denver, CO but hoping to get married back home near his folks in Fredericksburg, VA. Budget, like many of us near newleyweds, is our biggest constraint, so I was wondering whether anyone has found unconventional venues in or near this area that could accomodate a small reception of 50-75 people. We’ve just about considered every alternative – small cermony (10-15 ppl) followed by dinner, same size ceremony followed by a bigger party, both ceremony/recpetion in the same space etc. – but we almost always circle back to the latter: wanting a small wedding (75 ppl max), including both a ceremony and reception, within the same venue.
Any ideas? We’ve called around to some of the larger homes/estates that serve as traditional wedding venues, but are hoping to expand our options a bit more (community/office buildings, non-wedding specific event spaces, breweries etc.)…
Look forward to hearing your thoughts xo
