Congrats!  The shock may take some time to subside, that is really fast.  But it’s great.  And its a nice reminder that things can’t happen quicker than expected!

Congrats!! I know we would have been thrilled if it happened right away and shocked also.  Great news!! yay!!

By The Way I had a friend who after a month of trying decided that they weren’t actually ready and she was about to go back on BC when she found out she was preggers (and yes they are thrilled and in love with their little girl, so it all worked out!)

Sounds like us, Chicago.  Congratulations, and I do understand the shocked feeling.  It took us awhile to get adjusted.  Once we found out the sex it was a lot easier for us!

I was so hopeful that it would happen right away, but fearful that in reality it’d take us years. We planned to try for two cycles, then take a break to make sure I’d likely be able to travel for my sister’s wedding. The first cycle I was too into tracking things. So the second I stopped altogether and we just did it when we wanted to. We then decided to stop trying earlier than planned, since we were getting into buying a house and realizing how much time/money we’d need to put into the house. And of course, thats when we found out we were pregnant!

Congratulations, Chicagowife!  That’s so exciting and comforting to hear that it didn’t take you long at all.

congrats!  that happened to us, too, and it was pretty shocking…it was a littttttle bit like how I only had a 6 month engagement, and I was already “behind” on all the checklists…I felt that way with the massive amounts of reading/decisions for baby  😉
