Haha, guilty as charged! I haven’t made any firm plans, but I have about three “dream weddings” planned, and I definitely think “hmm this would be a nice venue!” when I go to new, pretty places. I’m a planner, though; I love it, and I want control over every detail, and I want to know all of my options before I decide on each individual detail. So… I figure if I start looking at things for fun now, then I’ll have an idea of what I would really like in about three or four years πŸ˜‰

To be fair, before a trip to Disney World a little over a year ago, I caught my SO looking at the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding website. Haha, so I guess it’s not just me! I don’t think he actually wants to get married there, but it’s nice to know that guys get curious about what the options are, too. And we ask each other “can we do such-and-such at our wedding?”, sometimes joking, sometimes not. I think that even if I am more enthusiastic about looking into it, he thinks it’s fun to daydream once in awhile, too; makes me feel less “crazy” when I poke around online at wedding-related websites.

Oh yes! Me too. I have been leafing through wedding magazines and researching venues and caterers online. It is actually quite fun! On of my guilty pleasures is looking at professional wedding and engagement photography online. How romantic these couples look!

You are not alone!

My bf continually states that he doesn’t want a long engagement, and wants a spring wedding. So me and a great friend (also my planner) put some fire under his butt and made him realize that we needed to at least start viewing venues if we want to get something for May. So we have been seeing venues and talking with caterers, although it isn’t official yet. We just seen a venue Friday night and fell in love, so now just waiting on the proposal to move forward with booking things.

@aokay:  Hi hi, welcome. lucky you getting a timeline, i haven’t gotten one, been waiting since jan 2011…sorta. i began thinking of engagments then and weddings. but here we are nearly 2 years later, no nearer to a timeline or even a place where we can openly talk about the dreaded e-ring etc. i also have looked at venues online and searched out everything i could about weddings etc. it’s a nasty habit but i love weddings and the happiness surrounding them

I have a word doc at my job computer that has a mock up guest list, Bridal party list, A mock-up of the wording to use for the invites and how I amagine the procession/ceremony will happen.

HEY, I was thinking about it anyway. They are just words on a screen….

We were engaged to be engaged, so I knew the season/year the engagement would take place.  We also thought the wedding would be 3 months after the engagement.

I did some preplanning just to know what stuff costs.

Man I got ripped a new butthole on The Knot.  Apparently you’re bat sh*t crazy if you do this.

SO in the end, looking at photos I consider OK, but leave the actual planning for the actual engagement period as it’s most fun during this time frame.

I have a board on Pinterest and I have ideas.  I just remember that it’s OUR wedding, not my wedding.  I haven’t bought anything though haha πŸ™‚

Guilty! I love music and food and fashion and staionery and decor. They all just culminate into weddings. I haven’t a specific timeline like you but just really enjoy browsing.

I have wedding inspirations saved in a secret location in the internet where none of my friends can see and judge me. LOL! I was out with an engaged friend the other day and she mentioned that it’s a good idea for us girls to know what we want so it’s easier when the date has been set. So my advice is go ahead and have fun with it! πŸ™‚
