Hi Bees 🙂
I’ve recently started my wedding registries and I thought I was all set with my three stores – BB&B, Target, and Amazon… but my MOB is insisting on Macy’s instead of Target – but a lot of what I would want at Macy’s, you can already find at BB&B and at a much cheaper cost! So I’m not really sure how to split my registries, and was just wondering how other fellow bees are doing their registries – or for any suggestions 🙂
I know my Fiance and I really want BB&B to be our main registry with Target for odds and ends (which I’ll probably just give to my close friends) and Amazon for our big wish list that I can’t find on the other two registries. But no clue what I should do for my BB&B and Macy’s – any help/suggestion is very much appreciated 😀

I know if you do Macy’s and have a credit card from them, you will get a percentage of everything bought off of your registry.

Macys probably give a lot better rewards than target. They give the bride a groom a lot of free stuff.

I presonally like Target better than Macy’s for shopping, but I agree that you should look at the rewards (if either provide) and see what will work better.

I will say, as a wedding guest who has purchased things off a Target registry, I would NEVER register with them. Incredibly disorganzied when I tried to buy a gift in the store, and then it was never taken off the registry, so the couple ended up with many multiples of many items.
Such a hassle to have to return it all.
They were happy with the online purchases, but SO many of their items were only available in store.
I would go with Macy’s, even though they are overpriced.
We went with Crate & Barrel and BB&B.

thanks… all noted, I’ll probably forego the Target registry… but I’m still looking for ideas of how to separate my BB&B and Macy’s registries… any suggestions?

I have BBB and Macys. I put most of my bigger stuff on Macys because of the rewards (pans, crystal, small appliances, and towels because Macys are 100x better). Of course I still put a few cheaper items on Macys for balance. My BBB has a lot more cheap stuff but I also added a few items that are pricy but still cheaper than Macys (sheets, knives, silverware, $80-100 instead of Macys $120+). Hopefully that makes sense…

I registered at Macys’s (and Kohls) and probably the main reason I did so was because they give you a percent back on items purchased off your registry, plus they have some name brands other stores don’t carry. After recently wandering through Bed Bath and Beyond, I did notice they carried a lot of the same items from Macy’s, plus you can always use the coupons. I did have a couple of people complain about my Macy’s registry and finding specific items, plus my own problems of the items always being out of stock or being discontinued. It’s a tough call, I think Bed Bath Beyond is more convenient and cheaper, but looking back I did get most of my Macy’s registry fulfilled.
