Sweettea actually had a friend get married in Puerto Vallarta! I’ll send her a message letting her know you posted this and see if she will hook you up with some info.

I attended a wedding last summer at the Riu Vallarta. The resort was very nice and the food was decently good. On an even better note – no one got sick – which is often a concern for Mexico and other southern destinations.

If you have any questions send me a PM.

  • Wedding: Small church ceremony, museum reception

hi there! Avocado told me you were asking about PV – My friend was married there last January and held it at the Playa Fiesta Resort (www.playafiesta.com), an all-inclusive that specifically caters to destination weddings. We all stayed there and the reception was held there (they do ceremonies on the beach, too).  I loved their photographer- Michelle Turner- and overall we had a lot of fun! I don’t have much else advice- Seabreeze’s Destination Wedding posts are pretty good for general info. Good luck- PM if you need some more info and I can try and ask my friend!

ps- they planned it from NY, had never visited PV before the wedding, and LOVED it. Fireworks at the reception (part of package), pretty good food, lots of drinks, nice staff, in a quiet part of PV but just a short  cab ride from the Malecon.. it was a lot of fun.

My daughter had her wedding in Puerto Vallarta. We rented Villa Estrella for the reception and had all of our family and friends join us for the whole week. I have never experienced a more beautiful setting for a wedding. It is a very magical place and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a really romantic and memorable place for their wedding. My daughter spent her honeymoon there as well. The food and setting were unbelievable.
