I am feeling.. like time is going so slow but so fast at the same time!

Not much to update about because I started a thread about buying a house already.. . thats pretty big news!

We got our bridesmaid dresses and my dress came in 🙂

Somtimes I feel like I am behind on a couple of things! WHich is insane because I started planning a year ago. But really.. I need to address the transportation situation and finalize the guestlist (which is so so hard)

How about you springbride23 ??? updates??

I’m getting so excited! Life has been insanely busy with school, applying to grad schools, clinicals, work, and being hours away from Fiance and the house we just bought!:( But I know it’s only a little while so it makes me even more excited for the wedding to get here!

I’ve started painting mason jars for our centerpieces and I really like how they are turning out. We sent our save the dates and I’m so happy with the responses!

Decided on most of the decor for the reception. Going to a rental shop that specializes in country/rustic weddings with my mom next weekend so that should be good! We’ve decided on our flowers (peonies and hydrangeas).

This weekend I’m going to block off some rooms at the hotel and hopefully start looking for a florist, make up artist, DJ, videographer and limo company.

I feel like the weddings going to be here before we know it!!

Ah, half the time I feel like I have “so” much time. Then the other half, I’m freaking out bc it’s so soon!

Done: venue, photog, videog, picked our bridal party (mostly) and getting them “will you be my bm/gm” cards (already ordered from etsy). our venue is a restaurant, comes with florist, dj/mc, bakery connections so that’s all done, too. Save-The-Date Cards are packaged, Fiance is supposed to go to the post office tmw to mail them.

Left: makeup/hair stylist, getting timeline together, ordering invites.. oh and dress shopping (haven’t started yet)

working on losing some weight – i want to lose like 35lbs by the wedding! i’m hoping to do insanity soon. ive been doing south beach for now. anyone want to do insanity together? im thinking of starting sometime mid-Oct once Fiance starts his new job.

@futuremrsk18:  Same! Some days I feel like we have so much time and other days I feel so scattered because it’s happening so fast!

We’re meeting with the florist on Oct 4th and signing the contract for our tent and other rentals the same day. I’m currently working on planning our honeymoon. We mostly just have to find an officiant (really hard task in our town) and figure out hair/makeup, finish a few DIY projects, and purchase a few more decorations. I’m sure there are other little things too but I haven’t come across them yet on my checklist aha. Oh groom’s/groomsmen attire is another thing on the list aha. We’ve been engaged a year and a half though so a lot of the bigger stuff has already been done (main vendors, wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, invites, etc.)

@sugarpea:  oh yes, groom’s attire. that’s mainly FI’s task and since it’s a beach wedding, he can be casual, but i want to research a little on that to make sure he picks the best option.

I have accomplished a lot in the last few weeks. Booked my DJ, photographer and caterer, and paid their deposits. And my dress came in! I’ve also been working on my DIY centerpieces, and I think they’re going to come out well.

There are still a lot of things to do, but I am doing a lot of things myself, so I know it will all get done. And I don’t have to find any more people, I’m doing my own hair and makeup, and flowers, so I’ve really got everybody booked that I need to book.

For me this is the quiet period before big appointments starting from Feb since the big stuff has been done. I just moved house and started a new job so I feel too busy to be thinking about my wedding right now! 😀 .. Though obviously not too busy to go on the Bee!

All the big stuff is done: venue, photog, officiant, DJ, caterer, honeymoon, day of coordinator

My dress will ship out on Friday and hopefully be here within 2 weeks.  We have an uplighting appointment in a few weeks, hotel rooms are blocked, and we need to pay a deposit for the cake.  Haven’t even started on hair and makeup ideas or flowers.  Bridesmaid dresses are basically picked, groomsmen shouldn’t be too hard.  We’ve analyzed some invitations but haven’t made a decision. Now I feel behind :/

I just sent an email to our photog. Fingers are crossed that she is available on that day. It’s been quite the discussion with my Fiance and finally conceeding to having a professional photographer.

Wedding planning’s been slow given the fact that my Fiance and I are in a LDR; we only see each other for 4 days after he works for 10 days at a time.

Done: Venue booked, dress, veil, shoes, headpiece (1950s lace cap), parasols for flower girls/bridesmaid/myself. Wedding band just got paid off and is now being resized.
We decided against providing guests transportation as everyone seemed to prefer driving themselves. We’re using that allocated budget for the photographer instead. ($2600 just to transport 50 guests from one province to another for the weekend; before having to pay for coach driver’s accomodation and gratuities)

In progress/In limbo:
– Marriage classes begin January 2014 for an Anglican ceremony.
– I am looking into getting my Chinese dress made
– I have been running/resistance training since May, which also included Pilates. It’s super effective.

I dunno… Does anybody feel that too much wedding planning takes away from spending quality time with their FH?? I am having a phobia of post-wedding blues.
