we have an appointment to pick out my Engagement ring at the end of the month at Tiffanys as my BF is useless with decisions and knowing what i want!! So decided to pick it together and tbh are excited about the experience!  have no idea when he will propose though we just took the opportunity to get the ring whilst we are in the USA as its alot cheaper than the UK, so that part will still be a surprise and planned by him!

jhearts9:  Oh I for sure picked out my exact ring. I am very picky and bless my SO’s heart, he isn’t very good at picking gifts (but he tries, God love him). He was stressed about the idea of picking a ring and I was stressed at the idea of him picking a ring. So I just found it myself. I found the center stone myself and the setting. I even did all the negotiating with the sellers and paid through my paypal (with his card attached). We went ring shopping once and I went by myself another time.

But I’m not planning how he’ll get down on one knee or when. I’d like at least that part to be a surprise. I have told him I’d like it if he would consult with my sister about the proposal though and potentially have her there to capture the moment on film or in pictures. And I’ve said no Christmas proposals haha.

Like many Bees that posted I helped pick out my ring but I didn’t know when it would happen. My Fiance always makes fun of me because I tell him that I like surprises but if I know a surprise is coming I try to figure it out which, I know, defeats the point. So since I knew it was coming I narrowed it down to a particular weekend. (At the time we were in different states so there was only a limited number of times that we would have seen each other) And I was right. However, he did completely surprise me with how he proposed and whisked me away right after on a little get away with engagement photos after. I was NOT expecting that!

It sounds like you’ve already proposed to him! If he agreed to buy you a ring and sealed the deal in the shop with cold hard cash, that was your yes! You haven’t gone public, but I’d consider you engaged definitely. 🙂 Nothing wrong with that at all- you can’t wait around forever!

We picked out my ring together and he literally put a deposit on it when I was standing right next to him. This was in mid-December and he said he would propose sometime in the spring. I was like UGH fine. haha 🙂 He ended up proposing the day the ring came in, right before Christmas. I was really shocked because I totally believed the spring thing so I put it out of my mind. The proposal was so romantic and well-planned and he managed to surprise me, which is hard to do! I definitely wouldn’t do it any other way. I’m really particular about the ring and if he’s spending so much money on something, he knew that I’d better like it!

I was completely surprised and I am happy it was that way. We didn’t go ring shopping together, we didn’t talk about when it would happen. I don’t know how some couples plan it together and what not but everyone is different.
