    Just curious, but why are these your only two dietary options?  Because you can take aspects of the diets (cut down your meat intake, cut out process foods & refined grains) and still be healthy.

     

    The Paleo diet’s pretty trendy right now.  It’s a repackaged Atkin’s, In My Humble Opinion.  I think many aspects of the diet are great, but I don’t think all the specifics are necessary.  Cultures throughout the world all developed a wide variety of diets that met their nutritional needs.  Very few of these would qualify as pure Paleo.  The best aspect of the Paleo diet’s the part where you cut down processed foods, which is what everyone should do anyways.  You can do that without going pure Paleo.

     

    I’m not a fan of Vegan diets because it’s really hard to do them right.  Your average person will have a hard time meeting their nutritional needs with a Vegan diet.  It can be done, but it requires a good understanding of nutrition.
