I have always been unhappy with my nose which has a hump. I debated about getting plastic surgery for several years. I made the decision to go ahead with rhinoplasty. I’m getting it done on the 19th of this month. This has caused conflicts with loved ones. My fiancee thinks my nose is fine, but he respects my decision. Fiance is taking the week off to help me out. I’m scared and nervous. I will have a cast on my nose for 10 days. I’m worried about FI’s relatives seeing me with a cast on Thanksgiving and I’m thinking about staying home that day. Has anyone else here had experiences with plastic surgery?

I think it can make an enormous difference in your confidence. I haven’t personally had plastic surgery, but I know people who have. As long as you don’t pull a Heidi Montag, and get 10 procedures at once- it’s fine.
It’s yours and your decision about how you feel about your nose.

I had that same surgery. I had the hump which is a masculine feature. The surgery wasn’t bad at all and I lurve my honker the way it is now! I also had a chin implant to add overall balance to my face.
Do what is best for you!! I am happy as pie I did it and have no regrets 🙂

Ill add that they also fixed a deviated septum while they were in there. You could just tell family that if you dont want to get too into it.
I was out and about two days after surgery. I just told people I got into a bar fight or that I gave myself a nose job for my birthday 😀

@kandy84: I had breast augmentation last year. I had a really small A and went to a 32D. I was teased as an adolescent for having such small breasts and it really took a toll on my confidence. I would never let anyone see me without a bra on. present day: I love them!!! I had THE BEST doctor who keeps up with me making sure the healing and adjusting process is going perfectly. I can’t lie, I enjoyed being taped up and taken care of while I was healing and sometimes wish I could do it again. No one even suspects they are fake because they look completely real. I say GO FOR IT. I am a firm believer on looking good on the outside to feel good on the inside. I would never have done it for anyone else except myself. The first night after surgery is tough. Take the meds they give you, you’ll need them but that was the only day I took them. I had so many left over. Another tip: I’m assuming you already have a surgeon, but make sure you research and “shop around.” I saw such a difference in surgeons and their priorities even 2 surgeons in the same building! My surgeon wanted me to have a realistic idea of what the end result would look like. Another surgeon tried to convince me to go with implants way too big for my body. Sorry to rant, I just had the best experience and would recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their quality of life.

i haven’t had any plastic surgery but I can tell you that a nose hump on a woman is something that is less than desirable, so if you can do it, good for you! And it will boost your confidence because the face is the first thing people judge!
