Hey Bees, need an opinion on this.
I really love the way chargers look on tables, especially when guests first walk into the reception hall.
HOWEVER, our dinner will not be served, it will be either buffet or family style (dishes are put on tables and guests serve themselves)
Do you think the chargers will look a bit weird at a buffet? I also kind of have the fear that people will take the chargers up to the buffet and start putting food on them! (I know for a fact some of our guests won’t have the slightest clue what a charger is. lol)
So do you guys think? Anyone ever since chargers at buffet wedding?

I agree with your statement that some guests will probably take them up to the buffet with them. I love the look as well but I would skip it.

I’m also having a buffet and will not have chargers. I like how they look, but like you said people would not know what they were. I’ve never been to a wedding in my area that had them.
The way weddings typically work where I live is you have the buffet open for two hours and people can arrive when they want within that time frame and eat. So when one group of people were done eating we would have to reset the tables with chargers again. It would be crazy. And we are inviting around 700+ people!!
Small town plus large families= huge guest list!

We’re having a buffet and using chargers. Our caterer recommends having plates up at the buffet table, since sometimes people will forget to bring their plates, and I think the chargers will add a complete look to the table while the plates are at the buffet.
