Ugh…so I am in plateau hell! I have been stuck at or near 140lbs for 2 months now and I cant seem to break through. I have been watching what I eat and doing 2-3 cardio workouts and 2-3 JM 30DS workouts per week. I leave for Florida in 10 days, and darn it I am determined to break 140 before I put on a bikini! I know two things contributing to my problem:
1) Weekend indulgences
So I am going to switch it up starting today. I am moving to level 2 of the 30 day shred, I didn’t know you were supposed to do it every day (I always thought you were supposed to give yourself a day off after weight training) so I am going to do the 30DS every day from now until Florida, I can give myself this Friday off and that will be exactly 10 workouts. I am also going to do Cardio 5 times between now and then (likely 2 miles on the treadmill – unless this super nice weather keeps up in which case I’ll move my running outside). Lastly, I am going back to my friend MyFitnessPal to track everything. AND I am no longer going to eat starches with dinner unless I am doing a big workout in which case I’ll have 1/2 C brown rice.
Fingers crossed, I need to blow through this plateau and think Florida might just be the motivation I need to do it!

I know you can do it!! I was stuck at 145 for about 3-4 weeks in a row and it SUCKED! What is your MFP? I’m on there too! Here’s to hoping we both see 3’s for our next weigh-in….though I think you’ve got the better shot 🙂

I’m also on a plateau. I’ve been at 145 for over a month. Mine has been due to too much snacking on the weekends, and not exercising enough. I’m not gaining, but not losing which is frustrating. I need to get back on the wagon with 30DS, I did it for a couple weeks then just fell off.

Well..I had a bad weekend…I was 143 on Monday morning but honestly most of that is water weight. Sure enough today I am 140…tonight is my second try at Level 2 of the 30DS…I am still sore from Monday nights workout…love that feeling! Fingers Crossed I see 139 tomorrow morning!
@hisgoosiegirl: my screenname is jboltz19 there also! 🙂

Oh man, I need to drop at least 5 in the next two and a half weeks. I’ve been stuck around 145 too. I’m doubling my excercise and lowering my calories. I hope it works.

@ChemistryBride: @jboltz19: When you finish 30DS, check out Ripped in 30. It’s even harder! I definitely couldn’t have done it if I hadn’t done 30DS before. I think it’s more interesting though, because there are more exercises in each circuit.

Good luck! Plateaus are really frustrating, but also a sign maybe your body needs a break?
When I was running a lot (training for a marathon), one of the things that caused me to drop a lot of weight very quickly was changing up a couple workouts. I was running 2-3 times a week, doing yoga once a week and going out dancing once a week.
I was eating a lot healthier then too. I feel so guilty just grabbing whatever convenience food (right now it’s making bean and cheese quesadillas with salsa!) is available.

Ugh, I’ve been on one for literally 3 months. I swear, despite going to the gym 4x a week religously and being very very good (tracking EVERYTHING on my LoseIt app) the scale hasn’t budged.
I hate plateaus.
I started the Paleo Diet on Wednesday so we’ll see how that goes. So far it looks promising. Fingers crossed

It is so hard when your body gets accustomed to your work out. I lost 120 pounds and then got stuck. I had to amp up my work outs and cut down on food and I FINALLY lost 10 more pounds…I’m at 130 pounds lost so far.
I think after a certain amount of success I became less strigent on myself and what I was eating. I definitely had to re-focus and get back to “work” so to speak.
