we are having a very small, upscale wedding. I found beautiful glitter plates at Marshall’s, and ordered more that are almost the same but silver glitter instead of gold. So my plan was to mix and match silver and gold. Well come to find out the ones I ordered, a few were silver, and the majority were blush silver like rose gold. All very beautiful but now I’m stuck in a pickle…. because I need about 9 more and all I can find available now is dark grey/ black glitter plates. These are really nice plates and we plan to use them every day at home after the wedding but for the wedding day I wish they were matching. I’m kind of invested at this point, I feel like I don’t have an option to not do mix and match… opinions on what to do? I

Honestly, I’d run with it and do a variety of silver, gold, rose gold, and black at each tableIf you play it like you went with variety on purpose, no one will think twice. They’ll only notice it for more than a second if you call attention it.
If you really want matching now, though, you’ll have to return them and see what else you like.

Thank you! I think I will go with the variety… I just hope it doesn’t look too crazy, since there will be more blush and gold than silver and grey. I wish it was a balanced mix but it won’t be and I’ll just have to embrace it! On the plus side, I’ll have some gorgeous sparkly dishes in a variety after the wedding!

Have you checked out other locations? Or TJMaxx/winners? They often carry the same things so you might be able to fnd more.
If not, I think mix and match is totally ok!

If plates were at Marshall’s, you might find them on other sites. I’d do a through Google search, including using the reverse image lookup tool. But even mix and match sounds pretty cool!

A mixture might look good? Or maybe do rose gold only at some tables, silver at oher tables, etc.
Do you have a photo of the plates? Maybe someone has seen them for sale elsewhere. (Plus, I love anything metallic, I’d love to see them!)

I agree with checking TJ Maxx & Homegoods, too. They have a lot of crossover. I wanna see pics!

jellybellynelly : T.J.MAXX is Marshall’s 😉 we have both here . That’s where I originally got a great deal on about half the plates… the rest are extremely expensive on eBay 😬 but I’m buying them anyway because I’m committed to my glitter plates now, LOL. I’ve become obsessed with pretty dishes now, and we will use them after the wedding so it’s like a wedding gift to ourselves in a way.
Good news is I think I found more of the gold so it won’t be too much of a mix and match!
The first pic is gold and silver, bottom pic shows silver vs the translucent rose gold I accidentally got a bunch of on accident. It was supposed to be opaque silver.. oops! Still pretty!
