MrsV2Bin14:  how thick is your band? i have a 2.5mm plain platinum shank on my ering and have had no problems with shape whatsoever (and i do wear it sleeping, cooking, running, etc.). many jewelers will tell you don’t go with a band under 2mm – they’re just so thin, that shape easily becomes an issue. plus, once you put diamonds in it, there’s even less metal for structural integrity. the solution might honestly be to switch out the setting for something with a thicker shank..

I would check what alloy is that ring made with the next time you need to visit the jeweller. IIRC, there’s at least 2 different types of platinum alloys used on the market and you may have gotten the softer one (platinum/iridium). My jeweller only works with the platinum/ruthenium (PT/RU) alloy to avoid issues like this.

I don’t really have a solution but I have a platinum RHR that I wear almost every day and it definitely has bent to more of an oval.  It’s nice because it’s the exact shape of my finger, but of course I don’t wear it stacked with other rings.

TheBlackCrain:  I was going to say this. The platinum guild recommend ruthenium, and that is also what Tiffany alloys all their platinum with. Platinum ruthenium has a vickers hardness of 135 while iridium is only 80.

can you take a pic?  If it is less than 2mm with stones it is not going to stop doing this, even if they remake it.  I woud go elsewhere, have the same stones reused, and pic a design that is more durable.

All thin bands can warp over time, and plat is more bendy than gold.  it is likely warping from either you taking it off and on, is it too snug?   Or you putting pressure on, like carrying heavy bags, or clapping??  Something like that.

MrsV2Bin14:  hate to say it, but I don’t think your problem is going to disappear. Jewelers are making super thin bands these days because they’re trendy and everybody wants them – but thin bands (less than 2mm) just don’t hold up over time. and it’s not just platinum – I’ve seen plenty of warped thin gold bands too. i think you either need to embrace the oval or else get a thicker band (or solder your rings togethet to effectively make the band thicker)
