Have you tried eBay? Platinum is expensive, so you might not find anything cheaper.

I found a Blue Nile one for £450 but I think that’s about $600  even without VAT. Don’t buy from the UK XD

Have you considered Palladium? It’s a far less expensive Platinum group metal

Platinum is a very expensive metal.

I think it’s currently trading around $1,500 an ounce and platinum jewelry is 95%+ pure so it does carry a hefty price tag.

I’m not finding any settings under $500.

I don’t think you’ll be able to find anything cheaper.  I’d give Palladium a try.

Palladium can be sized, from what I understand, just not a lot…so I wouldn’t go too big or small. A lot more jewelers are willing to work with it now tfqoo, so you might find someone local who can answer your questions.

My platinum setting (knife edge band and six prongs: 3.75 ring size) cost about $1,500 (don’t include labor in setting diamonds).

My 5 stone anniversary band is platinum. I got it from ebay and I recommend this is the way to go. Try looking for “vintage/estate/antique” on ebay. All platinum needs is a polish for it to be as new again. Just be careful with the diamond claws since claw-work is what’s going to cost most if there are any issues with preonwed rings.
