@Thinkboxxx:  I’m getting a palladium ring to go with my platinum. I read that it’s pretty much exactly the same thing because they’re from the same family, except palldium is lighter.

Shouldn’t matter.  My e-ring is platinum and my wedding band is white gold they are from a matching set though.  When my grandmother when to go purchase the wedding band they were out of platinum so she just took the white gold saying eh same thing.

They really look like the same thing too.  Have been worn for almost 60 years now and they are fine.  The bands sit flush to each other.

The metals will wear differently and look like different colors over time. Rhodium plated white gold will be “whiter” than platinum. It’s best to have matching metal for the best wear and to minimize damage.

I realize there is a price difference. I would love to get white gold because it is cheaper but unfortunately have an allergy and am forced to get platinum. Search for “mixing metals” on pricescope. Not making it up.
