We don’t want to buy a bassinet since he will likely only be in there for 3 months (depending) His playpen comes with the bassinet but the pad is super hard and thin so we wanted to buy a play yard mattress to put into his playpen.
Which one would you receommend?

Sorry as this may be a stupid question but you want a different mattress for his playard? Do you have a pack n play?

I bought a quilted, padded sheet for our pack n play. It makes it soft enough for her to sleep in. I don’t think additional mattresses are recommended by most play yard manufacturers, but I could be wrong.

My daughter sleeps in her pack n’ play, she is comfy in there. They recommend babies sleep on a very firm surface anyways.

My guy sleeps in the pack n play just fine without a different mattress. I bought a padded sheet (Carter’s) but it was slightly too small and would make the mattress bend up a bit, so he’s just on the regular ol’ mattress. He’s doing fine.

My daughter slept in the pack n play with nothing but a sheet for 9 months before moving to her crib 😉 I don’t think a mattress is necessary
