sligo23:  We priced out destination options and even reserved a date before we decided that it would work best for us to be married at home. Definitely talk to an apple destination weddings rep. They’re so helpful! Also look into Punta Cana, we almost got married at Majestic Elegance and plan to honeymoon there =) Good luck!

  • Wedding: June 2016 - Fairmont Mayakoba

I’m a Riviera Maya bride to be 🙂 definitely overwhelming as there are lots of resorts to choose from. We wanted a really nice resort that was a bit more private than an all inclusive would be. We chose Fairmont Mayakoba. We vacationed there last year in November which works out great because we know exactly the locations of our events. We don’t really have a budget, but have found that they are less expensive than other 5 star resorts in the area. We really liked the adults only hotels and they were decently priced too. I would recommend searching on Trip Advisor first to see what hotels you like and then delve into it deeper. Good luck and keep us updated

sligo23:  I don’t have any experience with having a destination wedding there but we stayed at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya for our honeymoon and we loved it.  There were several weddings the week we were there.  They seem to have several options for ceremony and reception.

sligo23:  I am going to a wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess in Playa Del Carmen. The bride showed me the pricing break down. I think the wedding itself is less than $2000 for 20. You should take a look at it. We aren’t going til Nov but it has great reviews and like I said the pricing was really amazing.

I attended a wedding at the Gran Bahia Akumal a few years ago. The resort was HUGE but lots of fun and the wedding was really nice. I think for about 50 peopl the actual wedding cost about $6000 with ceremony dinner and private reception, but agsin that was 3 years ago!

I attended a friend’s wedding at Azul Fives and had a blast.  not sure how much the wedding cost.  The resort was all inclusive and the wedding had like 90 people.

We stayed at the hard Rock in Playa del Carmen and it was awesome for my cousins wedding last year! I loved the all inclusive with a big group of people! I only had to pay a tax percentage for spa stuff it was great

BeeinBoston:  Nice! Enjoy! Oh, and let them know you are celebrating your anniversary.  My DH emailed them about it being our honeymoon and they upgraded our room and we had chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us when we arrived.

Hi there! I am having my wedding at the Grand mayan resort in riviera maya on nov 21, 2015. I vacationed there 3 years ago and it was so pretty that i knew it was where I wanted my wedding at. We had started with a budget of $10,000 but we will be going over a little. You can definitely keep it under 10,000 though, the wedding ceremony package is only $1200. heres some pictures of what our reception and ceremony will look like.004010009
