I am thinking about this area too and am interested in any additional input people have on costs!  I vacationed at the Barcelo Maya and would probably try for the same resort and of course can contact them but I’m not officially engaged yet πŸ˜‰  Just getting curious about the costs of what I’m thinking I would like to do!

I’m looking at Iberostar- they have a few resorts in that area.  I’ve emailed quite a few of the resorts there through there websites and they get back pretty quickly with their wedding packages, photographers, etc. I can’t decide which resort to select; they all look great!

I’m looking into Hard Rock Riviera Maya, they have some great packages, and surprisingly affordable.

We’re getting married at the Grand palladium in riviera Maya we were at the resort last October and it was amazing!

ETA: I stayed at the Grand Mayan in 2009 and the resort is beautiful but the beach was very rocky.. we didn’t spend a single day on the beach when we were there. It could be different now but that’s just my experience πŸ™‚

I’m getting married at Barcelo Maya Palace, November 2015! I’ve never been there, so I’m going on faith and I’ve had some anxiety. It’s a relief to hear that you loved the resort. If you end up booking there, feel free to reach out and I’ll let you know any tips and tricks from my planning experience.

We stayed at the Hard Rock down there and there was a wedding..It was a beautiful resort, nice beaches and several pools, the pavillions were pretty, grounds were well kept, good food and drinks. The rooms are really nice. The temperature that time of year is spot on- sunny, 70 with a breeze.

I second the Grand Mayan! Fiance and I have vacationed there twice – the second time we were there, there was a wedding set up…and we were so jealous that we decided we’ll do our vow renewal there someday πŸ™‚ It is the most beautiful place!! But I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anywhere in Riviera πŸ™‚

@sligo23 just a heads up my grandparents have a time share at grand myan/grand luxxe and the food is really expensive! And the grounds are SO huge it can be difficult to het around! I second the hard rock! And as a destination wedding guest all inclusive is really nice after the spending the money to get there it’s nice to not have to worry about if some people want to eat fancy and things are tight! The hard rock had 9!dif restaurant options and when the weather took a turn for the worse and plan a wasn’t an option they completely took care of it and made new plans so there was an amazing reception inside

sligo23:  OMG that’s awesome! We are getting the strawberry package.  My locations are beach my Playa Azul for ceremony, and CoCo’s pool for reception.

Hi…  I live in Mexico in the Yucatan which is close…  But, not close enough for me to know the answer to your question.  See if you can join this facebook page.  I feel that will be the most help and most direct answers from people that have first hand experience living there daily.
