**I normally wouldn’t make an alias to post, but I know it’s a small world and I don’t want to ruin my chances of getting the job if someone from my potential employer stumbles across this…**
So, my dream job was posted a couple months back, but it called for a year’s more experience than I had – I applied anyway, thinking I might as well give it a shot.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve had one phone interview, two in-person interviews, emails assuring me that I’m the top candidate and a phone call from HR telling me that they’d like to extend an offer to me, contingent on checking my references – one of which is my direct supervisor, upon their request. I spoke to my supervisor, she (thankfully) was very happy for me and agreed to talk to them and recommend me. That was last Wednesday.
Since then, nothing. Not a word, save for a reply to my follow up email on Monday where I asked if they required anything more from me to further the process, to which they said that they were finalizing the recruitment process. I was assured I’d be contacted shortly with updates. That was five days ago.
Should I be panicking? Should I email again Monday? It’s a bit of a tight spot, especially with the added bonus of my two bosses now knowing that I’ve applied elsewhere, and may be gone soon. They’re left wondering too.
