It will really depend on your own song preferences, the generations and preferences of your guests, and the vibe that you are going for. If you hate hip hop, it would be useless for a Bee to recommend her favorite hip hop songs. Or if you want a raging dance party, it wouldn’t be helpful to get a list of Rat Pack music. So we need a bit more information here in order to be helpful.

I also asked for requests and only got a few….so I went online and searched best songs of the 80 70s 90s etc …..and picked ones I liked….I have them all on my ipod and add and delete as time goes by to improve on the list…I think making sure you do this quite early on is important so you have lots of time to work on it without being under too much pressure..I tried to pick songs from each age generation that will be at the wedding.

@mrstaylortobe:  thats why I scanned the internet…you can do all sorts of searches for best wedding dance songs etc etc through the decades…the music at the reception is the only thing I am a little freaked out about…what if nobody dances!!! lol…I am going to instruct a couple of people that no matter what they have to start the dancing off!…I am in my 40s and my fiance is 51….even between the 2 of us there is a huge difference in what we would both pick..I think its great to ask for suggestions from your guests….:)

Classic Motown is good for all-ages dancing. Then there’s other popular, all-ages stuff like Brown Eyed Girl, cheesy fun like Journey and Boston songs, mix in some contemporary stuff from FUN, throw in a Metallica or GNR ballad for a slow dance, and sprinkle on a bit of current pop (nothing too foul or suggestive, more Kelly Clarkson that Niki Minaj).
