i have had such a hard time finding a hairstyle I want for my wedding. I want something simple and elegant, updos don’t really stay up well for me. I wanted something like below – but the girl I booked for my hair had such a hard time re-creating.
Does anyone have any ideas how the look below was created?
Sorry if it’s big. This is what I ended up with..

Oh gorgeous! I wanted a similar style for my wedding day. I couldn’t tell ya how they did that hair, BUT I found a youtube channel that does prom/wedding hair “tutorials” (they’re not super clear, but at least give a rough idea to work with) that are really unique and elegant. Womenbeauty1 is the channel name. She had so many creative styles, I had a hard time choosing!
Hope this helps, sorry I couldn’t give you instructions for those specifc styles!

To me it looks like a fishtail braid that starts on the side of the head! The braid then gets spread out by pulling the pieces loose and then it’s pinned in. I could be wrong but I’ve seen similar hair styles using that method!

rachelmariee : Just saying that I agree with aberk–definitely looks like a fishtail braid that was done off to the right side of her head. Then it was pinned over to the left side after being poufed out a little 🙂 I think how the hairdresser did your hair is lovely. But if you don’t like it, I would call around to some other hair salons. Or start checking out the Instagram of local hair salons/hair dressers. I don’t know how I got my hair done before the magical world of instagram–it’s like hair porn every day from real hair dressers who can do your own hair just as beautifully, haha.

I’m a hairstylist and the inspiration hairstyle that you chose looks to me like a pull through braided updo. Your hairstyle is very beautiful but looks more like curls pinned up into an updo rather than the braided updo . hope that helps!
