I have been on the dress hunt for far too long. From the start I said I didn’t want anything straight because I didn’t think it would look good on my body shape. Then the girl working at the bridal shop convinced me to try this dress on and I LOVED IT! My only problem is that I am a little bit self conscious in it. I feel pretty in it and it’s def the look I have wanted and I love the lace. So give me your honest opinions. It also can come with a bolero that I didn’t try on so I posted the model picture to show it.
My big worry is that my belly is too big for it and that I look too round in my butt/belly area.

Here is the bolero that I forgot to add!

You have some rockin curves in that dress! I say get it, and the belt for sure ( or any belt) to perfectly define your waist! You look fabulous! I really love the lace detail, can I ask who the designer is?
i think that type of bolero would be gorgeous! Post a picture if you get to try one on with the dress!

I like it with the belt. I know what you mean about feeling a bit self conscious in the more form fitting dresses. 🙂

The belt takes the dress to a whole new level! Fantastic!

Not really a fan.. Sorry! I do think it looks a lot better with a sash though.

@misschickpea: Thank you so much! The designer is Essense of Australia. It’s one of the first ones on the page when you pull up the website. It shows it with the bolero on and a sash.

I think it’s really pretty on you, and the sash makes a huge difference. It really defines your waist and adds some interest to the overall look.
I would advise against anything you feel self-conscious in though. Have you tried any ball gowns or a-lines? If you are conscious about your tummy, a style that nips you in at the waist and skims over your stomach/hips might be both more flattering and more comfortable.

@FutureMrsWells: The ony reason you don’t like your hip/tummy area in it is because these photos were all taken at hip level. The dress really suits you and the sah and bolero really amp it up. Sleep on it until you’re comfortable, but I say go for it!

I love the dress with the belt!

I’m a big fan of you in that dress, especially with the belt. Remember, very few pictures will be taken of you from the angles you’re presenting here (which aren’t super flattering) so I say rock that dress!

Love this dress on you with the sash! Definitely get one, otherwise I think the dress is a bit too plain. Also (not sure if this is just because the sample doesn’t fit perfectly, and depending on your modestly levels) I would pull the whole thing down maybe a inch, it looks like the neckline is sitting up a bit too high on your chest, a bit lower down and I think it would be perfect 🙂 When I tried on the dress I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy, I liked it but something felt a bit odd about it, but then the consultant pulled the whole thing down a little to expose a little bit more of my chest and it made the whole thing look even better! (don’t worry, I’m not talking massive cleavage or running the risk of falling out or anything, just to expose more of the chest area)

It looks like the sample is too big and I’d be worried that the dress in your size will accentuate you in the wrong places. I’d pass and keep looking, try to find something similar with a natural waist.

The sash is critical, but add that and I think you’ve got a winner dress!
