Ok, so… A little bit of background… My Fiance and I split up in late September, called off the wedding… the whole shibang. Now we’re back on, happier than ever, and planning on keeping our original date of April 2nd 2011. We already had a lot of deposits down so it just made sense to keep out date. Now I’m PANICKED trying to scramble and get everything done.
Yesterday I took both of my MOHs (yes, I have two
) to try on dresses and we picked one right away. The lady helping said we could only pick from 2 of the designers that they carry and they would still have to be rush ordered to get here on time. Now I’m asking my girls to pay $213 apiece on a dress that they will most likely only ever wear once and she told me I have to get all of their credit cards and measurements BY TOMORROW! This is kind of crazy to be springing on my girls right now. My sister was in tears when I told her yesterday because she doens’t get paid until Friday.
Anyway, now I’m having second thoughts about the dress. It’s not the dress as much as the color. The only color even close to what I want was called “firecracker”. I really want a HOT orange/pink/red color. Now that I’m looking online at the color (the swatch in the store was tiny) it doesn’t seem as HOT as I want it. I really really really need y’alls help.
Are there any DFW ladies out there that know of stores that can do dresses quick, won’t break the bank and have HOT colors? Or even if you aren’t a DFW lady… any online resources that could help me? I’m feeling so overwhelmed I would really appreciate any help at all.

I think if you want a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress in a color you KNOW they will never wear again, that you should pay for it, or at least pay the majority of the cost.
>$200 is not reasonable to ask your BM’s to pay.
Could you consider a more wearable color and bring in your HOT COLOR in accents such as jewellery, flowers etc?
This David’s Bridal dress is on sale in their outlet section for $79.99. It is available in all sizes except 10 and 20.

@julies1949: Thank you so much for the response! They’re up to $213 because of the $50 rush fee. I’m just hoping that there isn’t a rush everywhere I check. I’m definitely going to go look on the david’s bridal outlet site… thank you!

I just noticed this supplier who advertises on the weddingbee site http://www.lightinthebox.com
Hopefully that means they have been checked out and are reliable. Here is a bright dress from that site.

Their shipping times seem fine for your needs.

that looks great, thanks again! I decided to cancel the other order… I can’t ask my BMs to spend over $200. Also, I think instead of searching for such a specific color I am going to choose either fuschia or orange and do either fuschia or orange flowers (to kind of have it all meet in the middle) I found this inspiration pic which I LOVE. What do you think?

I think that was a good choice to not have them spend that kind of money. Have you tried going to a department store at all, maybe Nordstroms? You may find something you love and not have to worry about getting it in time for the big day.

@MaiFuture: Wow! That dress is beautiful! Thank you… What a great idea! I’m going to keep perusing their website to see what else they have too. Stress is beginning to lift. I think I will be able to get this all done in 2.5 months ::fingers crossed::

@jilliybean:
Those are my colors too! Fuschia and tangerine orange. I originally had coral as a color and gave it up because I had the worst time finding anything the right color. My girls will all be in fuschia with bright orange bouquets (a mix of roses, tiger lilies and gerbera daisies) then my bouquet will be fuschia (roses and stargazer lilies). It’s such a fun bright color scheme. You can stick to one color for the dress then do a sash in the other color maybe. Also my girls are wearing orange lilies in their hair. Lots of possibilities. Jcrew makes a nice cantelope color you might like and their dresses come in fast. Also quite affordable when they run a 25%-30% off sale which they do quite often. Spring colors should be coming out soon so you may be able to find something off the rack as well. Check Nordstroms, Macy’s etc. Did you like the Palm Beach Coral color DB makes? Their stuff comes in quick as well. Good luck.

You made the right choice by choosing to mix the two colours rather than go with coral. I made the mistake of choosing coral (my original colour wouldn’t work) and I regret it so much. Nothing matches and the whole idea is thrown off. Your orange and fuschia looks amazing and you made a good decision!

I used netbride and it worked out great. Dresses were almost $100 less than what we priced out at the most expensive bridal store, and $50 cheaper than the best price I could find from a brick and mortar store.
Everything arrived perfectly.

My bridesmaids all ordered their dresses about 8-10 weeks before the wedding–and it was difficult to find a manufacturer that could make dresses in 4-6 weeks. We ordered a dress from jordanfashions.com … each bridesmaid made sure that the shop where they ordered the dress would have it 4 weeks before the wedding, in time to do alterations. Everything worked out fine! I think Jordan Fashions says on its website which dresses are able to be made in a rush order. I’m not sure of the expense–but I think it was between $150-200, including rush fee.
