First thought: hot glue. Though I’m not 100% it would hold. A test (just do a signle strand and hang it in a little-used doorway to see if it hold up) would be in order.

Second thought: sewing needle. You have to thread the flowers on, anyway, just do a quick back-stitch to hold each bloom in pace and let gravity keep the line straight (heavier flowers or weights attached at the ends will keep the lightweight fishing line from bunching up).

You tie a knot slightly above the little green part that holds the stem. I never had any problem with them slipping. Though I have found that finding just the right line is crucial (nothing to stiff).

I would think low-temp hot glue wouldn’t cause a problem with melting, but I suppose it could!
