SHould I have 2 of them get a short dress or should the short girl just wear the long dress?

i dont have pics, but i cannot for the life of me imagine why someone who is “short” not be able to wear a long dress!! any size girl can look beautiful in dresses of various lengths!

Of course she can. Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are tailored, it’s not like she’s going to be traeading all over the hem of the dress.

Agreed. That’s what tailors and seamstresses are for.

I am 5’1″ and I wear long dresses all the time to events. It does have to be tailored, but sometimes the right cut will give the illusion of height, that and a great pair of heals.

I am 5’1 and don’t really like to wear anything that is below the knee because it tends to make me look frumpy. Last time I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man, the dress picked was long but my friend said we could alter it to knee length instead, so I did. It looked much better. That being said, I think your Bridesmaid or Best Man should suck it up for 1 day. But, also keep in mind, that its going to cost your friend a lot to get her dress altered if she really is 4’9. Maybe that is what she is concerned about? I’d talk to her and find out what the issue really is.

I’m 5’1 and I think I look 6 feet tall in this dress. that might be wishful thinking!though!

One of my bridesmaid is 4”10 and is going to wear a long dress. She has been a bridesmaid before and she wore a long dress in that wedding and looked good in it. She wore heels which does a shorter person to wear a long dress.

Thanks ladies! She looked at this pic and liked it a lot.
flamingred- you look great in that gown and it is very similar to the ones I picked.
This is the gown and it will be in Ocean Blue, which in the dessy line is a deeper almost tealish blue.

I don’t know. On the one hand, you want her to feel comfortable and like she looks good. On the other hand, she should be able to suck it up for one day.
I guess it doesn’t really matter if she looks good in a long dress or not- the problem is that she thinks she doesn’t. But, for what it’s worth, I know a shorter girl who is busty and maybe a few pounds overweight. She looks a lot better in short dresses… but I think that could be the combination of her height and body type.
