I am getting married in September and have already talked to my Maid/Matron of Honor about the bachelorette party. It’s going to be in SIN CITY!! The thing is we (my bridesmaids and I) want to leave thrusday afternoon to have a night to ourselves before everyone arrives on Friday. My main concern is how does everyone get there? I don’t want one person driving by herself while a group of girls who know eachother drive together. What should I do to ensure that we have optimum carpool-age? I would also like to know if it is okay to ask my guests to pitch in for their room. I don’t want my bridesmaids to spend a fortune booking 3 or 4 rooms.

Well first, how many people are there total? And how far away is this place you are going from where you live?

@raziel1687: It is a 4-5 hour drive. We live in orange county and the bachelorette party is in Las Vegas.

@TrinityLeeAnn: The guests should expect to chip in for the cost of the rooms. They certainly shouldnt be (and they probably arent) expecting to stay in vegas for free just because they’re your friends. Whoever is in charge of planning will have to calculate the cost involved and figure out how much each girl should pay. I’ve planned my friends combined bachelor/ette party (the only reason I’m on this board– I needed to read for advice!) and everyone is paying equal amounts AND the bride and grooms room cost has actually been redistributed among the 18 guests. I also booked the rooms with the pay when you check out policy so I didn’t have to put money down and I can cancel a room if people back out as late as a few days prior to check in. Ours is also a destination type deal. I suggest an email or text-serve to get the girls who dont know eachother well connected and maybe even a googledoc to arrange a carpool. We’re not worrying about carpools till closer to the date (end of may) and I’m flying since I’m significantly further away and the price was right.
