- Wedding: August 2011
Thank you in advance to everyone who reads this!
My fiance and I are planning on getting married in August 2011 onboard a cruise ship while it’s in port in Miami (so people could attend our wedding without having to cruise). We booked and paid (in full) for the wedding and put our $400 deposit down on the cruise. We sent out our Save the Dates at the end of November and created a wedding website with all our information. We also bought DIY invitation kit that was perfect (cruise ship theme!). We originally chose to do our wedding on the cruise because we thought it would be cheaper and save us some money since we’re paying for it all ourselves. However, its been very stressful (as I’m sure everyone here knows!) and we’ve run into a few problems (guest limit) and it’s caused a few fights with his mother (we’re making it hard on everyone who wants to come to the wedding since its in Miami on a Monday)
But…after having done all that, my fiance asked if we could just go with our immediate families and get married in Vegas. That was what we originally wanted to do but we decided on having a more traditional ceremony (part of the decision was because of his mom). But now, we both just want to go get married in Vegas. But we don’t know what to do. We already sent out the Save the Dates and we’re not planning on inviting everyone to come out to Vegas (although I suppose we could but Fiance really wants to keep it small) so we don’t know what to do. Also we can’t get married until August based on our current living situations and money reasons. We have to let people know soon because our families that are traveling down here are going to start booking their flights and hotels soon. But we don’t know how or what to tell people.
Ideas, thoughts, suggestions would be great!
Also we’re leaving for our European Honeymoon at the end of August and its not really in our budget to have a reception in our hometown when we get back from Vegas.
So what should we do?
– Send out invitations for our Vegas wedding
– Send out announcements and invite people to watch our ceremony live on the website and for up to 24 hours after our wedding
ETA: Luckily the cruise ship will let us cancel the wedding with a FULL refund up to 90 days before the cruise. So that’s not really a factor.
