I think you need to spend more than $5 on the bags to be able to find something that is NOT obviously from K mart. Maybe splurge on the bag and go easy on filling them with nice things? The idea is to give them something they have forever…a $50 coach wristlet, for example, puts you back about $400 but they’ll keep it and remember the day…

Maybe you can sew them something cute?  then it’s really personal!

I don’t know where to get bags like those. But hopefully you won’t be offended if I offer a few alternatives. I’m only mentioning because bags are very personal to style and I personally would not use something with  that style. Without spending more money, I think you could make really personal gifts. My suggestions:

photo of you and your bm (15cents) in a dollar store picture frame

OR handmade bracelet or necklace that with their initials knoted in with metal beads(again super cheap)

OR old navy flip flops in their favourite colors

@Adriana.Niva: sounds good. you know your BMs best. I just wanted to add that if you do go the flip flop route, you could add in $1 nail polish to match.

But I’m with you. I don’t think Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts have to be expensive. I’m probably gonna shop around and find stuff on sale for my own bridesmaids. Nothing crazy. Not sure what yet.

edit: sorry i didnt see your link to the picture, i dont think bags like this are what you are looking for…

I did an amazon search for totes under 5$ and found about twenty pages of them. These were some that I thought looked nicer/appropriate for a Bridesmaid or Best Man gift.

What about getting some little boxes at Joanns and/or Michaels? They have wooden ones and cardboard ones that come in different shapes and sizes. They even have hat boxes that come in smaller sizes. You could paint and/or decoupage them and line them with fabric and then put gifts inside of them. For little gifts, you could go to the dollar store and get them things like lip gloss, bath and body sets, candles, a frame to put a picture of the two of you in, manicure sets; the list of things at the dollar store is endless.
