The first. I was budgeted $600 for my dress but I paid $900 on a preowned gown. Totally worth the extra $300.

The second dress may have been made for you but it doesn’t look like it fits well, TBH.

The first dress is far more flattering.

You look gorgeous in the first dress! It’s lovely. I’m not suxh a fan of the second dress. This is a very special day and the memories and pictures will last a lifetime. I’d spend more and get the nicer dress.

Dress 1 for me.  I feel it looks better on your body shape. And prefer the bottom of the first dress.

I know you mention the lighting but that yellow tint puts me off it too.

It’s tough whwn there’s such a huge price gap.

Since too hey are different dress styles could you find something middle of the range?

If you can honestly say that you love the second dress then go with that one!  It would be one thing if you loved the first and found the second just acceptable, but if you love the second I’d say take it and be happy you got such a steal.  My dress is $1,500 fyi so I wouldn’t say I’m biased toward the cheapest option 🙂

mingogo4 :  Just trying to help with a little honestly, please dont take offense! I remember you posting before you were torn about dress 1 because of the price, especially in relation to your wedding budget.

I think if you really loved both dresses equally, you would go with Dress 2, no questions asked. I think your heart says dress 1, and your head says dress 2. I say… it’s your wedding day! Just go with your heart! I know you feel guilt over the dress, but if your mom can afford it, there is no reason for guilt. It is okay to have nice things/ wants/ desires and not feeling guilty about it! You look beautiful in that dress, and it doesnt matter about your wedding budget or if you get married in a courthouse or a ballroom or an alley, as long as you feel beautiful on YOUR day!

I was in love with two dresses, but one was 10k (just under my budget) and one was $2k. I wanted to LOVE the cheaper one because it was SO MUCH CHEAPER but alas, it’s a day that you’ll have documented forever, so go with the one you love!

I think dress 1 looks a lot better. If you like dress 1 maybe you should just get it. It costs $1200 but if you keep buying other dresses and then end up buying it anyway, the cost is only going to go up.

I’ve seen your other posts and I’m glad you gave the custom a go. It’s not a patch on the first one though in terms of flattering shape.

If the price of the first one still bothers you, you could try to find it preowned online. Also it’s a super popular style and I bet you’d get one off the rack similar to it in a sale – still from a good make so it has the quality and structure that makes it such a fab shape.

If neither of these two options yield results then take your mum up on her offer!

I really don’t love the second dress, but it’s not terrible. So if cost is the main factor, then #2 should be fine. Could you ‘wow’ it up with accessories?
