Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking around for months, but finally decide to make an account because I really cannot decide on my chairs. I know this is the place to come for help 🙂
Originally, I was going to go with blush sequin linens (my main color is burgundy with pink accents) and gold chiavari chairs. However, I wasn’t always 100% in love with that idea. It would’ve cost more; my venue doesn’t have chiavari chairs, so I would have to rent those on top of linens. Also, I wanted more of a vintage look, and I was afraid that would be too glam.
So during a late night pinterest session, I found this pic, and it just clicked.
It had my colors exactly, and that’s the style of my venue. However, now I’m now torn between the what color to choose. My venue offers dark wood with a tan cushion and white with a white cushion:

Here’s the issue. I immediately thought to go with the dark chairs. I thought it looked nice, and I especially thought it looked even better because the cushions aren’t as dark as the pinterest pic. Also, I was thinking it went better with the season. My wedding is February 25th.
So, there’s no issue, I should go with the dark wood, right? No. The problem is my mom doesn’t like it, and says she loves the white. Her reason is the dark wood actually takes away from the linen and the decor. Of course, I could easily say, nope, that’s not what I want…but I’ve pretty much shot down 95% of her ideas already, and it created a lot of tension between us. Hence, the reason I was mostly lurking around these boards in the first place (searching for advice on dealing with her).
I want to know your honest opinion bees… for the linen I’ve chosen, the season, and the venue, what looks best! I just want to make sure I’m making the right decision, and potentially not hurt my mom’s feelings again for no reason 🙁
