Ugh, so stressed. I was the one who convinced Fiance to write our own vows. Well now he’s all finished, and I have some serious writer’s block!! I’ve done all the brainstorming, I have my ideas, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to start them. I don’t want it to sound like a cliche! HELP

That’s so personal. .. what is the first thing you want to say to him?

Why not just start by telling him what he means to you? Example, “(Name), ever since you came into my life I have felt …” Then talk about the things you love about him, then get into your promises, then BOOM! you’re married!

Don`t worry about the beginning- start in the middle.
You can`t let the lack of one sentence prevent you from getting started.Just put ideas down on paper. You may have to rearrange things, add things and subtract things, but before you know it wou will have your vows on paper.

We are doing simple ones like.. “I vow to ____________, I promise to____________” etc. My first like Will be ” _______ I promise to always laugh at your jokes”. His will lkely be “I promise to always make you laugh”.

Thanks everyone! @GroovyHippieChick: I know, they are very personal. I think I was freaking out last night because he had finished his and I couldn’t seem to start mine! After pulling an all-nighter though, I was finally able to put into words everything that I feel 🙂 We’re keeping them a surprise until the ceremony, and I’m so excited to share mine now, and to hear his!

..There’s no place I’d rather be right now than standing here, in front of everyone, making these vows…
…. As I stand here in front of everyone, I feel excited and happy to be here with you, making these vows…
…Once we’re married, will you please promise to stop leaving the toilet seat up when you’re done? I figured a promise in front of everyone here was better than anything…

We wrote our own and both read some vow ideas online first. That was extremely helpful getting us both started. http://www.myweddingvows.com
