Do you have time to see a counselor about this? If you’re physical ill and crying from anxiety, then counseling and/or medication could help you feel a lot better. You shouldn’t have to live with suffering like that when there’s probably a relatively painless solution.

Find a hobby that you can get lost in and take with you… knitting/crocheting, books, running, documentary watching, etc.  I always feel better when I have a project to keep my hands/mind busy in down time.

That’s a 24-hour helpline for anxiety disorders. Don’t hesitate to call. They’re happy to talk to you even if you’re not currently feeling really bad.

@soon2bhis: Aw, didn’t realize you were a fellow Canuck! There’s a lot of resources for Canada here: http://www.anxietypanicsupport.com/crisis.php I can’t vouch for them like the US number (which my BFF used to volunteer for), but I’m sure they can help you out or point you in the right direction.

It’s normal!  Let yourself cry and feel those emotions.  Trying to be too strong and pretending that everything’s ok when it’s not won’t help.  I learned that. 🙂

Definitely try to speak to a counselor, but in the meantime, relax, take a long hot shower and think about all the things you’re going to gain from this experience.  A great job, more independence, ability to make your own schedule, and a wonderful DH to come home to.

I find that when DH and I are apart, we have so much more intimacy and appreciate each other SO much more.  I don’t even care when he leaves the toilet seat up or socks on the floor because it means we’re together. 🙂
