cloud9bride :  I think either as is or maybe a simple blingy belt and big earrings and no necklace?

cloud9bride :  Sorry just saw your replies! And thank you so much for saying that about my dress, you really made my day. So, I’m not sure if I really had that moment that people talk about, but I was in a situation that I think might be similar to you. The very first dress I tried on was a dress that my mom went crazy over, she loved it so much. All of my bridesmaids loved it, said it was the most beautiful dress they’d ever seen. I felt amazing in it at first, but I think it was because it was the first time seeing that a wedding dress could look good on me, and because it really is an amazing dress — But I couldn’t get the feeling out of my mind that it wasn’t “me”.. just wasn’t my dress. So I went to 6 different stores, tried on 50+ dresses, all while thinking maybe that first dress was the one I should get since everyone else was so excited about it and nothing else had that wow effect. Finally at the last appointment, they had that first dress there so I was able to try it on again to see if I still felt the same way. I tried it again and still liked it, but wasn’t sold. My mom still loved it, so I was still thinking ok maybe that is the one for me then. Right after trying that on, I tried on the one that ended up being my dress! I just immediately felt so much better and more confident in my dress. I don’t know if I would’ve had the same “THIS IS THE ONE” feeling if I hadn’t tried it on right after trying on one that I was trying to convince myself to love, but being able to compare the two next to each other made it clear to me! I’m thinking maybe you will get that same feeling when you find a dress that has the elements you love about the first one, but gives it that extra special something to make you feel like it is the dress you can see yourself getting married in.

cloud9bride :  I think just the way it falls on you, it looks like a really high-end designer dress. Like very… floaty and beautiful, I love the way the bottom flows. I know you want to show off your figure, and I don’t blame you.. but I do think #2 looks much better on you. I’m just not a huge fan of the big contrast between the beading and the crepe on #1.

Also, I looked for a long time and then bought a dress I thought I loved. But literally within a few weeks I already had dress regret. I think I have about 8 posts on here asking about different dresses. I was so set on a certain vision that I had about a dress, that I ignored stuff that actually looked better on me because it didn’t have the “wow factor” that I wanted.  I wanted something that had a gorgeous lace back, but then after our wedding I realized how silly it was to focus on the back, because really most of the time people are looking at the front of your dress/ your face.  90% of our pictures were also front-facing, so the back didn’t even get shown off that much.

If you’re not 100% on either dress, I would keep looking. The fact that I didn’t LOVE my dress is the one thing I regret about my wedding. I wish I would have switched it when I could have instead of trying to ask people’s opinions about it or figure out what alterations I can do to make it a bit “better”.
