This is my very first topic of my own and I’m in need of your help!
My fiance proposed to me a few months ago when we were backpacking through Europe (I had NO idea it was coming) and was overwhelmed when shopping for a ring by himself and decided to go with a solitaire setting with the idea of letting me pick out a setting of my own when we got back home.
Diamond details – 1 carat Asscher (uploading a photo with the diamond in its solitaire setting)
So I narrowed down my search looking through 1000’s (literally) of settings and have decided on 6 finalists. Could you all please help out with my decision?
Please imagine a diamond band, either straight or wavy depending on the ring design on BOTH sides of the ring. I love the symmetrical look! *The 2nd photo shows ring #2 with a diamond wedding band on the bottom to give an idea of what I’m going for. Ever since I saw Keira’s ring in Anna Karenina I’ve been DYING for the symmetrical look.
I thank you all SO much in advance!
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!

@BethanyChristine: Is it bad that I like it the best as a solitaire?? But if you are set on changing it, I think #1 is the prettiest!

@wrkbrk: Not at all! Thanks for your honesty! I do like the solitaire and I’ll keep it in case I ever want to switch it back, what bothers me is how a diamond wedding band looks awkward with it and I really love diamond wedding bands in general.

I actually love it most as a solitaire. But of the 6 settings you posted, I’d pick number 5.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE split shanks, I would definitely choose one of those!

I love number 5! But I love the solitaire the most 🙂

Haha #1 is my ring! And I love it:) Bur for the symmetrical look, I’d say stick with the solitare! Just enough bling to catch the eye, but not overwhelming!

@Lily_of_the_valley: Agreed! I never gave them a thought until I looked through Gabriel & Co’s designs and now I’m in love! Especially with a wedding band on each side, so pretty!

I love it most as a solitaire, and I don’t think a diamond wedding band (or 2!) would look bad with the setting you have at all. 🙂 That’s what I want when SO and I finally get engaged – solitaire + diamond eternity band!

@BethanyChristine: For sure! They really give a “wow factor”

@wrkbrk: I agree. It’s a lovely diamond. I think elaborate settings take away from that. That being said, if you twisted my arm, number 6.

5 is the best. it looks very rich.

@CherryA: You’ve got a good point, taking away from the diamond was my one reservation when considering the change. Lots to consider! Thank you!
