We’re having a Destination Wedding in Thailand and would like to know what cake flavor(s) to choose. We’re thinking of a 3-tier cake, and each tier can be a completely different flavor, but I’m not a picky eater and neither is Fiance, so what would you like if you were a guest at our wedding? Our options are:-
1. Red velvet
2. Mud chocolate
4. Dark chocolate
5. White chocolate
7. Black forest

I would do a different flavor for each tier. You can do the classic chocolate and vanilla which will satisfy most of your guests. I would do red velvet for the third layer because it’s always a favorite!!

@WYAtocha: Red velvet is my personal favorite, but I’d probably take advantage of having a different flavor for each tier.
If I could choose 3 flavors from the above, I’d go with:
– Red velvet
– Black forest
– White chocolate
That should give enough variety for your guests. I think all of the flavors sound delicious, though!

Red velvet is my #1choice – that is one of our flavors! Whenever someone asks about our cake and I say red velvet they get so excited. White chocolate sounds really good and decadent too.

We are going with marble cake. I like vanilla and he likes chocolate. Compromise! 😀 We both get what we want.

Just curious but what is mud chocolate?

@angelinthesnowxo: I agree. That would give everyone the opportunity to have something they like. Plus Black Forest is one of my favorite!

Thanks, ladies! 🙂
@CMSnails: I actually have no clue what mud chocolate is…lol. We just got our cake flavor list from our resort’s wedding planner. Fiance thinks mud chocolate is super rich chocolate, which is right up my alley, but I know not everyone is crazy about chocolate like I am!

I’ve never had mud chocolate or black forest.
I love red velvet. With a cream cheese frosting, it’s my hands-down favorite.

@everyheart: mud chocolate is just chocolate mud cake and Black Forest is chocolate cake with cherry liquor and cherries.
@WYAtocha: my pick would be white chocolate and dark chocolate but I don’t really love any of the options.

@Holly77: mud chocolate is just chocolate mud cake.
That sounds the same, lol. But I just googled it, and apparently mud chocolate is heavier and denser than regular chocolate.

@everyheart: that is what I should have said silly me.
We have chocolate mud all the time in Australia and I can’t stand it it really sticks to your teeth and yes it really dense but a lot of people love it but not me.

Call me boring but I love vanilla! Especially when you’re having a wedding in a tropical destination, how amazing would a vanilla cake covered in fruit be?
@Holly77: Well, if it sticks to teeth, then I hope the OP doesn’t choose it. That wouldn’t make for good wedding photos!

@WYAtocha: Just remember that red velvet can stain! dont get it on your dress!
