i would do the iron horse. it’s a fantastic vineyard in sonoma. i’ve had their other wines, as well as the cuvee and they are great. i think the cuvee would be perfect with the chicken, lobster or other pasta dish – and great with antipasto & dessert too! the bubbles are light and the wine is crisp & just a tiny bit sweet. cheers!

With the food you’re serving, I’d recommend a white or a Rose  – some of the reds will overpower the great food you’re serving (plus, red wine with cake??  maybe that’s just me 🙂 From this wine taster’s opinion the Iron horse Wedding Cuvee or the Angeline are my top pics!

Oh- and it really depends on whether you’re doing a plated or self-serve dinner.  If it’s self-serve, leave the wine at the bar so that people don’t have to worry about opening the bottles themselves.  If it’s plated, leave the bottles on the tables and have the waitstaff open them for your guests

I would definitely have the wine at the bar. I don’t know how many people you have per table but if it’s more than 5, one bottle of wine isn’t going to give everyone at the table a glass.

I thought in California the liquor laws were such that you have to have a bartender pouring the wine.  In other words, you can’t have an open bottle at the table and let people serve themselves.

Also, one case of wine may not be enough for everyone. You will only get about 5 glasses poured from one bottle.

I would recommend a Sauvignon Blanc. I don’t know if the table idea is good because 1 bottle per table (assuming you have 8-10 people to a table?) will not get every single person a glass.
