Bees please help! I’ve posted earlier about possible vacations so I need your advice on this too. My fiance is in the Marine Corps and gets to come home for 2 weeks in August (a break from his year long deployment in Afghanistan). I want to have an amazing time and enjoy every minute he’s back. We are now looking at going on a 7 day cruise. Please help me pick one! They are both around the same price but I haven’t been to any of these destinations so if you have please weigh in.
Also, if you know any great discounted cruise websites that would be appreciated too. Thank you so much!

I’ve been lots of places in #1, and want to go to Belize (heard really good things about it!) so I picked #2 🙂

do they both have cool shore excursions you want to do?

I chose cruise #1 because the virgin islands are AWESOME. I love love love them. And check out vacationstogo.com for discount cruises. You can also get a military discount through them!

I picked #1, I don’t know a lot about the places in # 2.
By The Way, Fiance and I went on a carnival cruise this past fall, which went to the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, PR, BVI and one other place (I forget!). We had an amazing time, the shore excursions were great also.

What do you like to do? If you’re into diving/snorkeling, then #2 would rock. We’re big divers, and the best I’ve ever done was in the Caymans. They have tons of sea turtles and stingrays, and just a huge variety of life. Belize is supposed to have some of the best reefs in the world – rivaling/surpasing Australia. Cozumel has beautiful diving, too. The beaches at Turks and Caicos are also amazing, tho. I think you should look at the shore excursions and see which ones you like better. Either way, it should be amazing!

I have been on a cruise to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands so I would go for #1. A cruise is so much fun. We went for our honeymoon and they take formal pictures at night.

I’ve been to all of the islands on the 1st cruise, they’re great. You’d enjoy them. But the 2nd cruise has more culture, which I truly enjoy. So it has all of the amazing tropical things that the other islands have, but it has a lil more to offer. I want to go on a South American cruise desperately! Please, please go on the second one!! 🙂

Sidenote: I think Carnival offers a military discount or you can book through a certain website in order to get one. Maybe something to look into!
I hope that you find the perfect cruise and have a wonderful time with your Fiance.

Fiance and I are taking the Exotic Cruise (the one to Cayman Islands etc.) I’m super excited about it. So my vote is for cruise #2! But I’m sure either one will be amazing. When you book be sure to tell them it’s for your honeymoon!

I chose the 1st one only because I don’t know if you’ve been on a cruise before but if you have not some people don’t like the days spent at sea so much and the first one seems like there are a lot more shore excursions so it seems like the safer bet! Plus why not see more places on your trip than just a few, that would be my way of reasoning at least.

Umm does it matter?!?? THEY BOTH SOUND AMAZING—-((says the girl who is taking a honeymoon in exotic Ohio))….ugh.

I went on the exact same cruise as #2 in September. It was AWESOME!! My Fiance and I love doing adventurous things when we travel, and this was perfect for it. Belize is the best place I have been to so far. They had great excursions – we did snorkeling in Grand Cay, the range rover/cavern excursion in Belize, zip-lining in Honduras, and the boat ride/party day in Cozumel. I would recommend all of these if you pick this cruise!!

My husband and I are going to Cozumel in January 2011 after tons and tons of research. That said though, we actually REALLY wanted to go to the Virgin Islands because everyone I know who’s been there says how gorgeous they are. But, we got an amazing deal for Cozumel, and the Virgin Islands were a bit more expensive and slightly out of our budget.
I’ve also heard amazing things about Turks and Caicos as far as beaches and such.
So that’s my vote: No. 1!

Thank you thank you for the advice! I hope I can get more bees to respond-it’s still to close to tell! I will definitely check out the shore excursions as suggested. Keep the opinions coming!
