I voted wedges because of the grass issue. I think you will be misserable with regular heels on grass even if they are thicker.  However, I also think finding a wedge fancy enough for a wedding, (even a casual garden one) is difficult because the cork or rope part of the heel is SO casual.  Here are a few I found that i think pass as a formal shoe and may go well with a wedding dress.  not sure if any of these are necessarily your style but I just thought these types of wedges were more fitting and worthy of such a beautiful wedding dress. (i only searched shades of blue)

this one is more of a sandal

probably too formal for your dress but you get the idea

I am going with the wedges because of the grass. It might be a bit easier to walk in them. And I love the color!

I think heels are fun, classic and romantic. I just have not really experienced the wedge. If you love it, do it. I think that it really won’t be seen so do whatever your heart finds joy in.

I’m wearing 2.5 inch heels during our church wedding, but also have an outdoor garden theme, and I have not quite even thought of what to do. (I’m hoping that the ground isn’t an issue).  If you find heels you love you could purchase:

Some aqua options and good luck!

Try them both on and see which you like better. Payless Shoe Source has a variety that you can try on in the store to what fits best.

Other as in a pair of open shoes that aren’t wedges (or at least not those wedges) 🙂

It’s not the color it’s the style that clashes with the lace.

I only voted other because I’m with Meowkers above on the cork — too informal for such a beautiful dress. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the “Teton” wedges from Zappos. Not sure your budget, but those are some great shoes that you’ll most definately wear again.  Your dress is lovely and I’m sure whatever you choose will be fun. Have a wonderful wedding. Keep us updated on what you choose!
