Okay today I went to try on dresses at David’s Bridal for the first time. I found three that I like! They happen to be on sale. One of them is 1,050 and the other is 1,150. The price isn’t so much of a big deal to me since I am getting help paying for the dress by my aunt but the only thing is the dresses are on sale ONLY this weekend. They are both in the 800.00 range until MONDAY. Then they go back up to their 1,000 prices… the only thing is I haven’t gotten to see other gowns yet and i’m not sure if I should just fork out the money now and buy the dress and get it for 800, ( its a beautiful dress and looks nice on me) or wait until I see more dresses and if I don’t find anything I like come back and buy it for the original price because the sale will be over….
Please help! I basically need to know if I should get the good deal on the dress I found today or wait and try to look at other gowns to see if I like any other ones better and if I don’t, go back and buy the dress at the original price.
I can’t resist a sale lol. Any help will be appreciated.

Well get on the david’s bridal email list!! I get the emails and it seems like they have sales ALL the time! I’d say wait and try on some others just to be sure, and odds are there will be another david’s bridal sale in the next month just in case 🙂

Welcome to the Hive! Which dresses are you looking at, most of them go on sale every few weeks so I wouldn’t really worry about it, but it will depend on the dress.

they have sales all the time, take your time – otherwise you will be like so many of us on here and end up with 2 dresses!

I completely agree with breezybri19. DB has sales all the time (I get their emails too) so you should be okay to miss this sale and come back during the next one. Plus, you should have the piece of mind of trying on other dresses if you want to know you found the one 🙂 But since you’re an August bride too, I would just make sure you don’t delay making a choice for too long so you can get your dress in enough time.

Thank you guys! I definitely will go ahead and keep looking at other dresses to make sure I find the right one! It’s actaully an Oleg Cassini dress, mermaid style. It has lots of beading and a beautiful train. I am just hoping to get my dress as soon as possible so they will be able to finish it on time… Would it be wise to get my alterations done at David’s Bridal or to get them done somewhere else? Anyone have any advice?

DB is alittle pricey for alterations, but DB dresses are all they do so I would leave it to the experts. I made the mistake of taking one of my dresses to an outside alterations lady and big mistake, she ruined my dress so lesson learned.

@tksjewelry: Oh, the alterations aren’t included in the price of the dress? :/ This could cost more then I thought…. About how much extra are they if you don’t mind giving me a figure. 🙂

@YvonneBelinda:to have the bottom hemmed up it could easily cost more than $100. Just got my dress at David’s and we ordered it in petite, so hopefully I can just pick exactly the right height shoes, so the length won’t be an issue;)
