Not having one is really not an option. It’s a very small, casual wedding in a little barn, converted to a chapel. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!
What’s your theme?
I’d go with something solid – more lace would look too … busy? Chaotic? Idk. Maybe something like this:
shalee325: Did you change your dress? It looks ivory to me. Is that right? Are you open to other colors. Ivory can be hard to match.
What is your Fiance wearing?
Forever21 has an ivory cardigan
This could work
I did change my dress. I have both, and will use the other if I can’t figure this out. I couldn’t get over the darker color of the other
Geeze, I messed that post up! Anyway, it is ivory. I saw a dress this shape, but with no see through in the skirt, paired with a cardigan & loved that look! Figured I could add to the underskirt if needed. I definitely don’t want lace, would never be able to match it. Same thing with ivory. Do you think a cardigan would look silly with the see through skirt? It’s a very low key event, but I still want to look good! He is wearing a vest, tie, khaki pants. Our girls are our only party. The 19,15, & 13 year olds are wearing this dress. 3 year old will be the flower girl, in ivory. Flowers are ivory, dark pink, burgundy.
shalee325: It should be easy enough for you to try on your dress with a cardigan and see if you like the look.
Do you like the Etsy wrap? I think that could work perfectly. Watch the video in the shop’s ad.
If you watch the video you will see that it is just a loop of fabric. They demonstrate different ways to wear it. You could do this yourself-only one seam- or get someone to do it for you. Then wear it like the above model.
I do like that! I like that dusty rose color.
shalee325: Instead of a lightweight sheer fabric, I suggest something with a little texture would be perfect- like a lightweight sweater knit. Go to the mall, find a knit scarf in the color you like. Take it to the dressing room and pin the ends together with safety pins you have brought from home. Try it on like the model in the pic. I think it would look terrific. The taupe in your daughters’ dress has a pink undertone.
Awesome advice, thanks! I’m gonna try it!
