TO @Lollybags:  – Sorry I don’t know what is available in Australia, where you are.

But at least here in NA, we have some that I’ve seen at Restaurants that one would be hard pressed to know if they are real or fakes (lol, I usually check now when we are seated at a table).

The Burned Down Pillar Candle look tends to be the most realistic… IMO

PHOTO – LED Pillar Candles… notice the drips and dips… makes them look more real.

Hope this helps,

TO @Lollybags:  sorry, I misunderstood… when you said you didn’t like the look of tealights I assumed that meant they were out.

Have seen LED Tealights, and although they work, rare they look as good / realistic IMO as the bigger candles.

There are many suppliers on-line, but as QUALITY OF THE LOOK is important here, I’ll give way to other Bees advice, hopefully someone has first hand experience they can share.

If you can find the flickering LED tea lights, I’d suggest buying some wax and wrapping them in it. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve seen it done and it looks more like a candle than an LED light. I think you can buy the wax at most craft stores, so perhaps you could find something local or online?

Another idea is to wrap the LED tea lights with paper to make tiny paper lanterns that sit inside candle holders. This would mask that it’s an LED, but would still give the same amount of light. Again, I think this is something you could get at a craft store.

Another thing to ensure, is make sure the LED tealights are rated to have a long battery life (say 20+ hours). You want to be able to turn them on, and forget about it once they are setup.

I’ll see if I can find some images on google or pinterest to share 🙂
