I’m doing research on Nathan Hale, spy of the American Revolution. It’s for something really important, a project I’ve been working on for years – one of my dreams. I read a book when I was a kid; I am 98% sure the title was Letters to Nathan. It was not so much about Nathan, as it was about his little sister Joanna, and her point of view on everything that happened.
I have Googled; I have searched Amazon, eBay, Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble. I checked it out of our public library when I was a kid, and they no longer have the book. I really need this book, and I would just about kill for it. (Okay, not really! LOL)
If anyone by chance has this book, PLEASE let me know!!
Or, does anybody have any ideas on how I could find it? What site could I post a question on to help me find it?

I don’t suppose you live in Texas? Worldcat says there’s a copy at a library in Waco…
Actually, what I would recommend doing (provided you don’t miraculously live near Waco) is calling your library and asking them to borrow a copy for you via ILL; I bet they will at least try!

Oh, wait–that might not be the right book, either, sorry! I guess the Revolution wasn’t 1944-1946 (I am an idiot). Any other guesses at a title or author?

@BunnyBrideToBe: Crap! I don’t think that’s the same book! It was a children’s book, and I think it was old. So the chances of me finding it are very slim. Nathan Hale, during the Revolutionary War (died in 1776). It was a really good book! And I critically need the info in that book! Thank you anyway!

There’s a juvenile fiction book called “A namesake for Nathan: Being an account of Captain Nathan Hale by his twelve-year-old sister, Joanna”
Might that be it? Seems much more readily available, too…

I wish I could remember the author. Can’t even remember if it was a man or a woman’s name. All I know is it was about Nathan Hale, and the book was narrated by Joanna Hale, who was 12 years old. I remember some things IN the book, and I’ve tried Googling those things, to see if it was on Google books or something similar. But I’m really at a loss, and gettign desperate!
I’m sure the library book was probably in a book sale. It MAY possibly still be for sale in one of the libraries, but I had to request the book when I checked it out all those years ago. And I don’t remember which library branch the book was from, so I would probably have to go to EACH library, search thru HUNDREDS of books, and MAYBE find it. Gosh.

@BunnyBrideToBe: I am curious….how did you find this book? What did you type in to pull it up?

@woodwindwaker: I went to Worldcat and first tried “letters to nathan” since that’s what we thought the title was…that gave me the first result, which was obviously not the right one.
Then I used Keyword search (still in worldcat.org) and used nathan hale joanna since it was a book about nathan hale, involving his sister. Ta-da! First result was “A Namesake for Nathan” and the description sounded promising.
It was all about starting in the right place, I think.
