I felt exactly the same way because everything I looked at online just wasn’t me.  But when the morning of our first dress shopping trip came and everyone showed up, I did get some what excited.  Didn’t find a dress that day but I ended up having a lot of fun just laughing over some of the AWFUL dresses my mom and Future Mother-In-Law picked out.  And when our next shopping trip came I did get very excited.

Just keep in mind you don’t have to find a dress that day. I ended up trying over 100 dresses on before I found mine. =)  Go with the flow and just enjoy your time out with those you love!

I agree once you get out there I think you will be more excited. I wasn’t to excited to go the morning of, and actully did not want to stop. I know sometimes they say not to try on too many but I did, I think I tried on 50- 60 dresses. There are so many dresses out there you will find yours 🙂

I felt exactly the same way! Trust me, take the plunge and make an appointment. Once you start trying on dresses and seeing what works/what you like/what doesn’t work, etc you’ll get excited.

I found that after trying on a few, I was able to look at gowns online, in magazines and on tv more objectively because I knew what I liked and what certain details were like in person.

Im the same way. But my problem is that I’m just really self-conscious and I dont think I’ll ever find a dress that will make me look the way I want to look lol. I’m going dress shopping for the 3rd time on Tuesday and am hoping to just get it out of the way this time around!

I went last weekend and it was so fun! Im not sure how to pump yourself up, but try and sit back and think about the experience. Dress shopping is part of the whole experience, and hopefully you will only ever do it once in your life!

So enjoy the time you have with your mom and your bestest friends and let them fawn over you all day! hehe

ok, well a couple of words of advice, to help you keep motivated.

TAKE A SNACK- a cereal bar or something in your pocketbook

TAKE WATER

Don’t expect to find anything the first time because you might not.

Din’t go with more than one or two people. It gets too confusing becuase everyone will have an opnion.

Don’t rule out other shops.  You don’t HAVE to buy your gown at a bridal shop- if you ask around on wb, you’ll find plenty of bees who didn’t go that route.

I think it’s totally different than regular shopping, because you probably feel pressure and like you HAVE to get something. But yo udon’t have to the first time out, or even the second time, so try to relax. It will be fun to have someone wait on you hand and foot, and to have reveryoent ell you how beutfiul you look! And you will feel that way, too!

i wasn’t that thrilled about trying on dresses either…mainly because i hate wearing dresses. but once i tried on the first one i was so excited to try on more! (un)fortunately i found my dress on the 8th one so i didn’t try on too many. (sometimes i just want to go and try on more, but i know that is a bad idea because i know i’ll start second guessing my dress that i love sooooo much!)

good luck!
