Ok, long story short, I’m already a two dress bride. I bought my first dress because it was on a fabulous sale, but even while I was buying it I KNEW it was a bad decision. I was only out $200 so I didn’t sweat it too much.
I found another dress that I love (Sottero and Midgley ASM 3040) and am happy with it. A few weeks after I bought it I was looking at used dress sites and found a Vera Wang gown that I’m absolutely in LOVE with. When I first looked at it it was 4.5k, but since then the price has dropped to 3k (which is a steal since it was over 12k new!). On a whim yesterday I emailed the seller and asked if she’d be willing to drop the price.
She wrote me back asking me to make her an offer. I’m torn on what to do. I absolutely don’t NEED a new dress, but I am toying with the idea of offering her $1500 to see if she’d take it. This is so crazy to me and I don’t think Fiance would be happy with it, since it’d be dress THREE after all.
But the Vera Wang – I LOVE it so much. Here she is.
Hive – what should I do? If I were to make her an offer and she accepts I’d try my hardest to sell the S&M. I’d also re-sell the Vera after the wedding.

I think you need to stop 🙂
You said you love the Sottero and Midgley dress. Why complicate things by trying to purchase another dress?
The Vera Wang is pretty, but honestly, that dress looks like you could get something very similar from another designer for cheaper anyway. If you are going to spend a lot of money on a Vera Wang, it might as well be something that is totally unique.

If you really can’t live without the dress, I say go for it BUT there is still a while till your wedding so this HAS to be it. I mean, there will always be other dresses that look amazing but at some point you have to be satisfied with what you have and stop looking at other dresses. I know it’s hard…… 🙂

If you’re happy with the S&M dress, I would say keep that one. Because there’s ALWAYS going to be another dress out there that you fall in love with, and you’ll drive yourself crazy if you keep looking. And yes, the Vera might be an amazing deal if you can get it for 1500, but that’s still 1500 that could be spent elsewhere. So IF you’re happy with your S&M dress, I would keep it.

That looks very similar to my dress!!!!!!!!!! I love the lace bottom, it has to be my favorite part. If it were me, I would talk to Fiance, who I know woul tell me to get the dress I love, but I would certainly try to sell the other dresses or at least one of them. PS… if I got the Vera, I’d wear it the entire time!!!!! LOL

I would keep the S&M gown and stop perusing used dresses!
