I am from Eastern Canada and I need help choosing a dress. We do not have that many bridal stores around here so my options of actually trying on dresses are limited. We are having a ‘fairy tale’ wedding next summer so I know I for sure want a ball gown.
I like the picture of the Karelina Sposa 7602 gown. However, I would have to buy it without ever having seen it in person. I had 7 criteria I like in a dress and this dress is 7/7. (Ball gown, corset, satin, sweetheart, train, no pickups, details/sparkle). I worry that it might not be sparkely in person or that the fit will be weird because I am petite and need the dresses to hit at the right point on the waist.
I have tried on Allure 8753 and I liked it. It had a wonderful sparkely bodice (that hits at a great place) but I am not crazy about tulle and it has no train so I do not like the skirt as much. I liked how it looked on me overall. This had 5/7 elements. I also worry that the tulle makes it look too much like a prom gown. What do you think?
What should I do hive? Should I gamble and hope that I love the Sposa as much in person as I do the picture? (If I hate it there will be tears and I will be stuck wearing it) Or should I buy the Allure that I know I like? Would you ever buy a dress you could not try on first?
Any help would be appreciated!

honestly, if it were me…i’d take the gamble. the general shape of the sposa is sooooooooo similar to the allure. it is a risk though, because they are different designers. just because the shape/silhouette is exactly the same doesn’t mean they will fit the same. i settled for a gown in my first wedding though, and i’m determined not to do it again.
good luck on your decision.

i prefer the “Allure” as the material looks nicer and they are very similar dresses so I would go for the one with the nicest material!
my dress is tulle on the bottom and i never ever thought i would go for tulle but it looked better on me…. if you can try on the Allure, it may help make your mind up.
I would not buy it online as you don’t know how it’s going to fit / sit on you – i guess it depends on their return policy?
In summary, I prefer Allure 🙂 good luck!!

What is the return policy if the dress does not fit properly?
Have you found/talked with a seamstress that could make alterations if necessary? Show a good seamstress your pics and get her opinion. They have an eye for things.
Could you do a day trip to a town with a bridal salon that does have the dress for you to try on?

Either way, both dresses will have a no return policy. With so limited options for bridal salons they get to make strict rules that favor themselves.
And I have found no stores in Canada that have the Sposa dress to try on. They would order it from Texas for me and it would be mine.
Great idea about bringing the pics to a seamstress. I had not thought of that.

I love love love the allure, its fairytale but with sofistication…so soft and romantic!!! I love it!

I personally like the 2nd one better. Not because it’s the “safe” choice. But because it looks better. It’s elegant, and just enough to make you say “WOW” Whereas, the top one — just looks like too much to me!
Best of luck!

You are right, I am scared that I might feel like I settled .

I did feel that the tulle was light so it would be good to dance in, but I worry that since my prom dress was tulle it might be too similar. I llike the look of the satin but you are right that i may not like the feel of it.

I agree that it looks very fairy tale. That is what I am going for because we were engaged at the Magic Kingdom. Thanks!

I get what you mean about too much- but for me, there is no such thing! So I worry that the Allure does not have enough WOW! But I love to hear that you think it does. Thanks for your help!

it doesn’t matter if you wore it for Prom, i bet no-one will be thinking about that – no-one will make the connection I promise…. Tulle has more of a wedding feel… I think the satin may look too shiny but it’s up to you… i would really think about it especially if there is a no-return policy…….
