After 18months of being engaged and 18 months of browsing through wedding magazines, and trying on 100’s of dresses….. I found a dress. I was overwhelmed and had a hard time picking dresses. 1) I love them all and how do you decide? 2) I just lost 25 lbs… I hated shopping when I was fat. 3) my mother hated every dress I tried on and really vocalized her hate towards the dresses… so much that I have fallen in and out of love with 3 dresses!
After approaching the time crunch to get a dress I found one and went with it. It was figure flattering, I really liked it. I don’t know if it was love… but I got to the point… I just want to find a dress.
Then, I got my dress… I still really liked it and loved it a little but it wasn’t what I originaly thought it would be and it seemed like something was missing to me… so I kept looking online.
Big mistake…. I found another dress that had all of my original requirements…. I bought it… but now I’m confused and honestly don’t know which dress I like and which dress flatters me most.
I have had a really bad experience dress shopping with my family and friends…. they all have an idea of what a bride should wear and look like… I’m sure you have all delt with that during some aprt of your wedding planning.
Anyways, I haven’t shown anyone in my family either of these dresses…. So I am asking you for your honest opinion. Please help me decide!
Please keep in mind that both dresses are a little big and both need to be altered. Also, I took these pictures by myself… very hard… grrr….
This is Dress #1: Rouching, fit and flare sweetheart
Dress #2: Mermaid, lace, sparkle
I would like to change the neckline to a sweetheart…

Ohhh…I love #2 on you, personally! I wouldn’t change the neckline but it’s your decision!!

Love the second dress. Soooo pretty on you!

I prefer the first dress. If it were me, I’d have the first one fitted through the hips to show off the slight asymmetry in the shape and better show off your hourglass shape. I’d also take the neckline down just a tad more to emphasize the sweetheart neckline. Maybe add a sash if you craved a little sparkle.

I actually love the first one! Maybe it is because it is my kinda style or maybe its the huge smile on your face…but none the less I think you look stunning in it!

I also always tell girls to think about what their Fiance would most love to see them in. I know any good Fiance wouldn’t care what you wear because you’ll be beautiful no matter what, but I think my Fiance would have been distracted by some details on some dresses more than others. I made sure to consider him and what I wanted to be walking down the aisle in toward him when I picked my dress.

I prefer dress #2, it shows off your waist more

I really like them both- for different reasons.
I like number one because it is simple, yet classy and flattering.
I love number 2 because I’ve always loved flowy dresses with organza and lace. It also show off my figure… not as well in the pics because Its too big.. I can’t zip it up myself.
I’m also having an outdoor wedding… Should have mentioned that… sorry. Thanks sooo much!

I love the second dress and think you’re right about making it a sweetheart! It would soften it and balance it a bit against the bottom! I love it!

@allisonmarie4412: Thank you for sharing your photos and congrats on your weight loss, that is an awesome accomplishment!
And I love the confidence you are exuding in #1, you are wearing the hell out of that dress 🙂
I picked #1, and with accessories will be a perfect ensemble. For me, the details in #2 distract me away from looking at your pretty face.
Ultimately, you should choose the one you FEEL most beautiful in. Our comments can help reinforce the right choice for you. Would you feel disappointed if the poll results disagree with your fave? Then the one you are sad about is probably the way you should go…or vice versa.

Love dress one. Severely dislike dress two. There are too many elements.
You obviously look gorgeous in both but my vote is #1.

I like them both, so I didn’t vote. I think once they are altered, they will both look good–you can’t go wrong either way. If you go with #1, I do think you need a beaded/flowered/something-ed sash. Or a really dramatic veil. If you go #2, I would also like to see it in a sweetheart.

I love dress #1 I think looks more classy and elegant. make your waist look tiny.

I think the first one looks awesome on you!
